Morning all. High pressure sitting over or close to the west of the UK and Ireland today brings a mostly fine and dry day to most regions but this high is drifting north-westwards which will allow for northerly winds to pick up tomorrow bringing cloudier, cooler and more showery conditions.
It's a chilly start to the weekend with temperatures widely down into single figures and even low enough for a touch of frost in sheltered rural spots. There is still a northerly breeze blowing towards the north and east, this breeze bringing variable amounts of cloud with it and still a few scattered showers towards the northeast of Scotland. Otherwise for most places it will be a fine and dry day with plenty of sunshine helping temperatures to pick up. It will still be rather cool in the northeast with top temperatures of 12°C to 14°C, but towards the south and southwest of the UK with more shelter the sunshine will help temperatures up to between 18°C and 20°C. Have a great weekend everyone. ... See MoreSee Less
